The Division of Biocomputing is a division of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (BMB) responsible for informatics and computing support for genomics, proteomics, bioinformatics and cheminformatics in assessing the effects of existing or virtual compounds on pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics at the molecular and cellular level. The Division of Biocomputing aims to develop state-of-the-art capabilities in the analysis of microchip gene arrays, 2D gel electrophoresis, X-ray and NMR data, as well as virtual and high-throughput screening data, and to assist Health Sciences Center scientists in transforming these data into information and knowledge, via statistical analysis and data mining techniques. |
