Biocomputing @ UNM
A one day workshop on biocomputing: Monday, April 17, 2006
Sponsored by the
New Mexico Molecular
Library Screening Center (NMMLSC), the
New Mexico Center for Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) and the
Division of Biocomputing
Introduction
The Division of Biocomputing is running a one day workshop on local uses of
biocomputing (a broad category covering biology, medical research and bioX
[where X = chemistry, engineering, physics, statistics, etc.] significantly
aided by computers) The idea here is to nurture interaction and recognition
within the UNM and local community of those people interested in various aspects
of biocomputing.
Location
| Talks: |
Health Sciences and Services Building 105 |
| Lunch: | Research Incubator Building commons |
These buildings are on the the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center
campus (see map).
Parking is available in metered spots in the M lots on north campus and the
campus shuttle also stops very near the above buildings (see
map).
Lunch
Biocomputing will provide lunch. However, you
MUST
register (by sending email to
Biocomputing) if you plan to
join is for lunch, so that we can get an accurate count of how many people are
coming. Failure to do so will result in us distracting you in a mocking and
silly manner and stealing your food. Vegetarians will be accommodated! There are
no charges for the meeting.
Presentations
If you are interested in making a presentation, please send to
Michael Wester
a proposed title, a short abstract and any time restrictions and audio-visual
requirements you might have. No greater than one-half hour slots for
presentations (5 minutes of which should be allotted for questions) will be
standard. We will keep a web page on our Biocomputing site:
http://biocomp.health.unm.edu/
under the "Events" button where updated information on this meeting will be
found.
